The Shocker New Venture Competition, hosted by WSU’s Center for Entrepreneurship, is designed to inspire innovation and develop entrepreneurial mindsets. During the Shocker New Venture Competition teams are challenged to present their ideas and projects through various entrepreneurial concepts. On April 27th, the finalists will give an investment pitch.

Friends University will host a Final Friday reception featuring work by Friends University faculty and students. The reception will take place April 27 from 5-7 p.m. Artwork will include drawings, paintings, design, sculpture and more. The show will include 30 students and eight faculty contributors and will be on display through Saturday, May 19. The reception will take place in the Riney Fine Arts Gallery in Riney Fine Arts Center at Friends University, 2100 W. University Ave., Wichita, Kan. The reception is free and open to the public. The Friends University Singing Quakers will present the annual Symphony of Spring concert...
The Friends University Singing Quakers will present the annual Symphony of Spring concert featuring the theme Fables, Stories and Legends. Disney favorites, pop standards, and Broadway tunes old and new will feature shows ranging from Man of La Mancha and Wicked to Tangled and Hercules. Moving ballads, up-tempo dance numbers and the majesty of a full orchestra and chorus make this a hit for the whole family. The performance involves around 100 students and has been a tradition for more than 50 years. "I love seeing so many families in the audience singing along and having just as much fun as we are," said Singing Quakers performer Brittany Kuemmerle, senior. The performances will run Friday and Saturday, April 27-28, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 29, at 2 p.m. in Sebits Auditorium, Riney Fine Arts Center on the Friends University campus at 2100 W. University Ave., Wichita, Kan. Tickets for adults are $15; students and seniors are $12. Tickets can be purchased by calling Friends University at 316-295-5677 or visiting friends.edu/finearts.
