Only 50% of millennia's plan to be with their company one year from now. One of the reasons for the growing turnover is exposure to endless choices: what shampoo to buy, what flavor of coffee to order, what Netflix show to watch, who to swipe right on, what job you want to pursue. With so many options, it’s easy to feel like the grass is greener or not feel totally confident in your choices. Even though the average millennial is staying at their job less than three years, it’s not just millennials that are hopping around. The average American of any age is staying at their job for only about four years. In this program, we’ll focus on the key elements that bring fulfillment to their job and build a deeper connection to their work and purpose. We’ll debunk the idea of bouncing around searching for your ‘calling,’ and instead find alignment between your work and your purpose. Learning Objectives: • Learn tactical strategies to increase employee empowerment. • Discover potential ways to increased workplace engagement. • Employees view their roles with deeper meaning. • Enhanced workplace culture with new ideas to keep it consistent. Jess Ekstrom: Headbands for Hope Jess is the founder and CEO of Headbands of Hope, a company she started as a junior in college in 2012. For every headband sold, a headband is given to a child with cancer. The company has been featured on the TODAY Show, Vanity Fair, Seventeen, Good Morning America and more. But more importantly, they've donated over 200,000 headbands to every children's hospital in the United States and 15 countries. Jess is also a professional speaker, writer for Entrepreneur and founder of Weekly Wink (a positivity email sent every Wednesday). She lives in Raleigh, NC with her husband and standard poodle, Ollie.
