A Sweet A'Fair is a fundraiser for the Sweet Emergency Fund established by Dr. Donna Sweet to ensure that HIV and AIDS patients have access to their costly medications and health care. Annually, the fund helps hundreds of patients whose medical expenses are not covered through insurance or Ryan White grant funds. This year's event emcee is Wichita's very own award-winning news anchor, Susan Peters. Live and silent auction items will include artwork, certificates for massages and restaurants, gift baskets and more. Popeye's Chicken, along with other picnic fare, will be served. Enjoy the great tunes and hop in the photo booth provided by 80H8 Productions. A $25 donation to the Sweet Emergency Fund per person is suggested. Fidelity Bank has partnered with High Touch Technologies to host The Carnegie Concert Series at Heritage Square. Located behind the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum and the Wichita Carnegie Library at 220 S. Main Street, these free lunchtime concerts will take place every Wednesday in September from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Hollering with all their hearts over a five string banjo and a doghouse bass, Truckstop Honeymoon live the life they sing about. Touring across three continents with four kids and a truck load of songs, Katie and Mike West tell stories about the strangeness of everyday life. Their music combines elements of bluegrass, music hall jazz and straight up rock ’n’ roll. Vaudevillian wit and showmanship spike their energetic live shows, while the fearless honesty of their songs touches the hearts of listeners around the world. In eleven years Truckstop Honeymoon have released eight CDs and a full length documentary film on Baton Rouge label, Squirrel Records. They perform at International folk festivals, rock clubs, neighborhood bars, house concerts and hay barns from Nebraska to Tasmania. William Street between Main and Market will be closed during each event to accommodate a lineup of food trucks especially for the concert series. Overpayments: The Chamber does not issue refunds for advance payment or overpayment of membership dues, sponsorship commitments or registration fees. The amount of overpayment will be applied as a credit to the member’s account for use toward future invoices if cancelled within 14 days of payment.

It is a morality play, focusing on choices and their consequences. “Frankenstein is about the consequences of playing God, and the consequences of not taking responsibility for one’s actions. Any fan of tragedies or horror stories will certainly enjoy the drama that is Frankenstein.” said Clayton Reitz, the student playing Victor Frankenstein in the play. Ticket prices are $11 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. The show is appropriate for those aged 13 and above. The performance will take place in Sebits Auditorium in Riney Fine Arts on the Friends University campus at 2100 W. University Ave., Wichita, Kan.
