Business at Full Throttle

In September 2012, the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors initiated an aggressive program of work to put Wichita and the region on top in the competition for jobs and wealth creation. Implemented by the Chamber, with the help of its partners in the public and private sectors, it unites local and county economic developers in a cooperative, sustained effort to market Wichita as a desirable location for investment, talented workers, job creation and lifestyle. The five-year program carries a $9 million price tag – an investment focused on solidifying Wichita’s place among the top 25% of MSA’s nationwide based on economic performance.

The general phase of the Business at Full Throttle fundraising and leadership campaign concluded January 31, 2013 with an announcement at the annual Chairman's Lunch that 173 investors had committed over $9 million to the campaign. Fundraising continues and additional investors have pledged their financial contributions since the announcement and news release.
